Community Support

It takes a village…

  • Hooser Hills Food Bank

Please bring non-perishable food items! There will be bins from Hoosier Hills at the park.

“Hoosier Hills Food Bank collects, stores and distributes food to non-profit agencies that feed the hungry in Brown, Lawrence, Orange, Owen, Martin and Monroe counties in Indiana. HHFB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Over 100 non-profit member agencies serve more than 52,000 individuals each month. In 2022, we distributed 5,639,291 total pounds of food and 1,620,777 pounds of fresh produce. Since opening in 1982, HHFB has distributed over 90 million pounds of food.”

  • Humane Society of Putnam County

Please bring bags or cans of cat and/or dog food

“For over twenty years, the Humane Society of Putnam County (HSPC) has served Putnam County and surrounding areas. Triumphing through financial difficulties, the HSPC continues to benefit the community today, assisting in the rehabilitation and placement of abandoned or unwanted animals in need of good homes.

The Humane Society of Putnam County’s mission is to educate the community on the importance of spaying and neutering dogs and cats and responsible pet ownership. When the shelter is open, the HSPC works to provide the community with a safe haven for abandoned, unwanted or homeless dogs and cats, and to make every effort to find new homes for those animals which would make good pets. The HSPC is a private, not for profit (501c3) organization.”

  • Pagan Prison Library Project

The Temple of the Hallowed Gods supports incarcerated Pagan inmates by helping to build libraries for various facilities. While prison Chapels may choose to purchase book for witches and pagans in their facilities, there are often very limited titles available.

Through the work of Tamrha Richadson, a volunteer in the IDOC since 2012, Pagan groups in both Rockville Women’s Correctional Facilty and Indiana Women’s Prison now have private libraries for circles within these facilities. With community support, libraries can be built for other IDOC facilities in the state.

SIPPD attendees can bring new or used books, or even donate to the online fundraiser at the link below.
